Dear Forest Ridge Families,

What an incredible week we had at Forest Ridge Elementary! Thank you to our entire school community for your energy, dedication, and support through such a busy and exciting week.
Here are a few highlights we are proud to share:

  • Celebrating Our Outstanding Staff: A huge congratulations to Mrs. Tuttle (Teacher of the Year) and Mr. Dan (Support-Related Employee of the Year)! We are so proud of both of them and thankful for all they do for our students and school.
  • Positive Behavior Celebrations: We had a fantastic time celebrating our students' great choices during our recent PBIS event with Breez! Our students are doing an amazing job—we’ve already reached 69 positive referrals and are well on our way toward our next goal of 125!
  • Family Empowerment Night: A special thank you to everyone who joined us for Family Empowerment Night with the Citrus County Education Foundation. We love partnering with our families to support student success!
  • Kindergarten and PreK Firehouse: The Citrus County Fire Rescue visited our Kindergarten and PreK students to teach about fire safety. This is such an important lesson for our youngest Owls!
  • 5th Grade Hurricane Tony: Our 5th graders put their engineering skills to the test as they designed and built structures strong enough to withstand hurricane conditions!  Students used critical thinking, creativity, and their math and science skills to construct buildings that could survive the storm and come out in good shape.

As always, thank you all for partnering with us and supporting us so we can provide the best education for our students!

Thank you!

Christmas Assistance

As the holidays approach, we want to support our school families. If you are in need of Christmas assistance this year, please don't hesitate to reach out to Trishia Mikel via ParentSquare or at mikelt@citrusschools.org.

Fortify FL

Fortify FL is a suspicious activity reporting tool that allows you to instantly relay information to appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials. The Fortify FL app is on every iPad at school.

Reporting suspicious activity keeps our community safe, but making false reports is a serious crime. Submitting a hoax tip to law enforcement or reporting tools like FortifyFL will result in severe legal consequences, law enforcement action, and school expulsion.

Stay Connected with Parent Square

Please download the ParentSquare App to stay connected with your child’s teacher and our school. ParentSquare allows you to send and receive messages, receive important announcements, and, in many cases, see photos and updates from your child’s classroom.
Many of our teachers use ParentSquare as a primary way to communicate directly with families throughout the school year.
To ensure you have access, please make sure your contact information is accurate and up to date in Focus. Accurate information in Focus will help ensure that you are connected to ParentSquare and receiving important school and classroom communications.
We look forward to staying connected with you throughout the school year!

Fundraisers

FRE sponsors several fundraisers each year for different purposes. Profits from fundraising at FRE will be used, among other things, to purchase school-wide needs, such as additional playground equipment, technology supplies, and instructional materials. A small amount of these funds may be used to provide food and other consumable items for faculty and staff sessions throughout the year, staff appreciation, and student recognition. Some fundraisers are for specific purposes, such as the Kids Heart Challenge. We are always mindful that these are optional for students and are deeply appreciative of the support of the FRE community.
