Forest Ridge Elementary

Learning Together so we can Stand Alone!

Heather Bone

Heather Bone is the proud principal of Forest Ridge Elementary, a school that holds a special place in her heart. With 25 years in education, Heather has dedicated her career to serving students, supporting teachers, and building strong school communities.

Heather holds two master’s degrees, one in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Reading and another in Educational Leadership. Her diverse educational experience has allowed her to serve students in PreK through 5th grade and to develop a deep passion for meeting the individual needs of every learner.

Much of Heather’s teaching career was spent in Exceptional Student Education (ESE), where she taught in self-contained classrooms, pull-out settings, and inclusion classrooms as a mainstream teacher. These experiences shaped her belief that every child deserves to feel valued, supported, and capable of success.

Heather spent seven years serving as an Instructional Coach at Forest Ridge Elementary, working alongside teachers to strengthen instruction and improve outcomes for students. She then spent two years as an Assistant Principal at Lecanto Primary School, where she expanded her leadership experience and continued to grow as an advocate for students, families, and educators. Returning to Forest Ridge as principal has brought her career full circle and allows her to lead a school and community she deeply cares about.

Outside of education, Heather is a wife, mom, and proud grandma. She also considers herself a mom to her beloved dachshund, Beanie, who brings plenty of personality and joy to her life. Heather treasures time with her family and believes that the relationships we build—with students, families, staff, and one another—are at the heart of a successful school community.

As a school leader, Heather is passionate about creating a positive, welcoming environment where students and staff feel seen, respected, and encouraged to grow. She believes in leading with heart, celebrating the people who make a difference every day, and creating a school culture where everyone can thrive.
