Colony Chronicle Dec. 21, 2018 and again Jan. 7, 2019!

Hope your Holidays were blessed with family, friends, food and fun! The Holiday stories are amazing.  I am leaving them up in the hall for January as they are that good! Holiday-centered activities to build math, logic skills and inferencing activities rounded December.  We have some future investigators!

Math:  We shall continue multiplying fractions upon our return. Then on to adding and subtracting fractions, some say that is more difficult then multiplying.

Science: To the moon and beyond, space studies become the focus in the New Year!

ELA:  No spelling the first week back! Our first Novel will be Hatchet.

Social Studies: We will begin discussing the road to the Revolutionary War when we return.  Our re-enactment of Valley Forge will be on Friday, January 25, so begin looking for “period clothing” to wear that day… and don’t throw out any old, drab sheets (they make great tents!!).

Study Island and Successmaker can be done at home as well!

Report Cards: Paper copies will be coming home with your child on Friday, January 11. Our next Honor Roll assembly is planned for Friday, January 18.

Time to refresh the school supplies!   We are great on paper (we have lots of paper!) and pencils, but need glue, scissors and cap erasers. Someone accidentally threw out the glue bottles that we refill, so if you have any partially empty ones, please send them in for the class!

Please check the bright pink Save the Date for Enterprise Village as I need to get a chaperone approved as soon as possible!  We are required to have at least 5 per class.

Thank you for all the kind, thoughtful gifts! They sure made my holiday relaxing and refreshing!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday!
